Communicative lesson goal

By the end of the lesson, the student should be able to ask for information at the airport.

Communication strategies:
The student should be able to able to ask for information at the airport using the four techniques below:
- ask where things are
e.g. Where is the information desk.
- purchase transportation tickets
e.g. Two one-way tickets, please.
- ask what time trains and busses leave
e.g. When does the bus leave?
- ask for recommendations
e.g. What restaurants do you recommend?

Words and rules:
The student should be able to use the definite article when referring to something specific e.g. the Takasaki line
The student should be able to use prepositions of time e.g. It leaves at 5:00
The student should be able to use the present tense to state when a future scheduled action will happen. e.g. The train leaves in ten minutes.

Appropriateness: 
Register: When asking staff for information a polite register is used.

Method: Teach the student how to purchase different tickets. Teach them the following structure. (NUMBER) (AGE) (TYPE) tickets to (PLACE)

Can I get three children's return tickets to Osaka, please?

Option 4:

Purpose: Giving directions around the airport
Method: Practice giving directions both around the airport and to the airport from different locations.
