EA: Book 2 Midway Progress Lesson

Chapter 1: Introductions - Roleplay

S: Hi! What’s your name?
T: I’m Nick. What’s yours?
S: My name’s Yoko. Nice to meet you.
T: Nice to meet you too! Tell me about yourself.
S: I’m an office worker. I work for a small company. I’m from Fukushima. I live in Tokyo. My hometown is a nice place. There are lots of great shops and parks. But I like Tokyo too. It’s convenient. I like listening to music and watching movies. How about you? What do you do?
T: I’m an English teacher. I work at RSLC.
S: OK. Where are you from?
T: I’m from the United States.
S: OK. What is your hobby?
T: I like playing the saxophone and listening to music.



Chapter 2: Growing up - Speech

There are 4 people in my family. My mother, my father, my sister, and me. My mother is a nurse. My father is an office worker. My sister is a university student. We live together. We always have dinner on the weekend. My sister is in shape. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. She’s pretty cute. I went to public high school. I was in the tennis club. My favorite class was English because I like English. I didn’t like maths because it’s hard. I used to play tennis everyday. I used to practice very hard. I don’t play tennis anymore.


Chapter 3: Parties - Roleplay

S: Hello. Are you free this weekend? There is a drinking party on Saturday evening. Why don’t you join us?
T: Sounds good! Who’s coming?
S: My friends are coming.
T: Where is it?
S: It’s in Ikebukuro.
T: Should I bring anything?
S: No. We will buy drinks.

Note: The aim is for the student to ask 6-7 questions, including follow-up questions.
